Leverage Environment

How friendly current conditions are to holding daily-reset 2x or 3x exposure to SPY, EFA and EEM, judged by momentum, volatility and serial correlation, with breadth shown alongside for context. Every reading is shown with its percentile against that ETF's own history.

This is a monitoring tool built on approximations, not investment advice. Read Methodology and caveats before relying on any number here. For every result in full, open the detail report.

Readings against each ETF's own history

Each cell shows today's value, its percentile, and a bar spanning the 1st to 99th percentile of history: the shaded block is the middle half, the tick is the median, the solid dot is today and the hollow dot is one month ago. A percentile says how high a reading is, not whether that is good; the word beneath it gives the direction for leverage.

How leverage actually compounded over the past year

A simulated daily-reset fund compared with simply multiplying the unlevered return. The compounding effect is positive when returns trended and negative when they chopped. This is the outcome the metrics above try to anticipate.

History

Composite score against drawdowns

For each ETF, the composite score (top) above its drawdown from the highest prior close (bottom), on the same time axis. Red lines mark scores of 20, 50 and 80. Use it to judge whether the score fell before a decline began or only as it unfolded.
